CREATION OF ID LOGISTICS SOUTH AFRICA

In line with the Group strategy, ID Logistics opens a new subsidiary through a partnership with an existing customer. Danone appoints ID Logistics to take over the National Stock Warehouse, immediately enabling capacity increase during the peak season.

MARCH 2013

TAKE-OVER OF PRIMARY DISTRIBUTION

After the successful staff take-over of the National Stock Warehouse and the system integration with SAP, ID Logistics was awarded the management of the primary transport. ID Logistics’ close relationship with hauliers and the implementation of a control tower ensures the smooth transfer and cost-effective running of the operations.

MID 2013 - END 2014

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF 4 DISTRIBUTION CENTERS AND 12 CROSS-DOCKS

ID Logistics is appointed by Danone to build a complete refrigerated distribution network to service its 3,500 points of deliveries. After strategical studies were done by the R&D teams, the decision is taken to articulate the network around 4 Distribution Centers. All bulidings are constructed from greenfield.

JAN 2015 - JUNE 2015

OPENING OF THE NETWORK

Over a period of 6 months, ID Logistics successfully kicks off 16 sites and deploys a structure of 200 brand-new trucks and 1,000 people. The new network completes at least 30,000 deliveries a month, with 88% of the customers serviced within 24 hours.

MAY 2015

A MULTI-PRINCIPAL NETWORK

After completion of the Danone project, ID Logistics opens its network to other principals. Patleys was the second one to come on board on a pure distribution model, followed by Mighty Meats, Mayo and Deneys Swiss Dairy.
