A STRUCTURED APPROACH
In 2014, ID Logistics decided to dedicate a team of 4 engineers to setting up a true Innovation unit. Using a collaborative methodology, the team centralises all of the group’s innovative projects.
An innovation committee, made up of managers from the Operations, IT Systems and Development departments, guides and monitors teams on topics of the future.
TARGETS 100% FOCUSED ON IMPROVING CUSTOMER SERVICE
With this approach, ID Logistics’ aim is to allow its customers to benefit from new solutions, improving the service provided by making it more efficient and more flexible, as well as offering different kinds of products that make it stand out. ID Logistics’ vocation is not restricted to operating excellence. It also endeavours to anticipate future needs by means of incremental technological innovations and breakthrough developments.

AN ECOSYSTEM CENTRED AROUND INNOVATION
ID Logistics has united its partners and suppliers around this new project. Each partner and supplier is approached on a regular basis to share with ID Logistics in its future developments of products and services. Existing suppliers are involved in each innovation project, but the ecosystem is open to any relevant partners – such as start-ups or engineering, business and management schools – to look at new issues.
AN EFFECTIVE PROCESS
This organisational structure allows for a simple but effective process:
Identifying prospective subjects: detecting promising subjects
Analysing relevance: Proof Of Concept
Setting up a representative trial
Ensuring ease of development: Scaling up

MEASURABLE RESULTS
More than 50 promising projects are identified and 15 projects are developed and trialled each year.
All of these projects are shared each quarter with all customers via the newsletter.
