SINCE 2013, THE GROUP HAS BEEN COMMITTED TO AN AMBITIOUS LEAN MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME. ITS AIM IS TO STRUCTURE AND INSTALL A CULTURE OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.

This project involves all parties at each site, from site director to pickers and fork-lift operators, and encourages discussion about how to ensure the smooth running of the site. It allows for training and promotion of the leaders of tomorrow by alternating on-the-ground apprenticeships with formal training.

Customer satisfaction, training future managers and involving all employees are the main aims of this overall approach.

IDELIVER : Cultivating collective intelligence

This programme is developing a new managerial culture based on business expertise, effective communication, and a skills ramp-up for ID Logistics employees to boost the continuous change, focusing on two pillars: firstly the use of methods, tools and best practice, and secondly the addition of a more participative managerial dimension to help strengthen team commitment by increasing involvement.

  • Alongside the Head of Operations in each country, we jointly developed a set of common practices for all sites.
  • The managers become skills facilitators in their own team
  • We encourage our customers, together with our teams, to think up new sources of improvement and new levers to activate.
  • This approach combines the know-how of our engineers who devise optimisation tools, the sharing of best practice during discussions between country operations managers, and the dissemination of a participative management culture on the ground.

THE LEAN PROGRAMME THEREFORE ALLOWS FOR A NUMBER OF GOALS TO BE PURSUED:

    • Develop a culture of continuous improvement in an ever-changing world;

    • Allow for permanent adaptation to the needs of customers whose logistics details follow these changes

    • Provide local managers with processes and tools to facilitate analysis and decision-making

    • Maintain a managerial link between operators and their line manager so that they choose the best solutions together

As soon as a site is created or acquired, ID Logistics installs the CID programme (what the site needs to do), as well as the LEAN programme (how to do it better).
