Astrid was born out of a simple observation: inventory is time-consuming, costly, and prone to error. The need to automate the process and improve reliability had become essential.

Astrid is an autonomous robot that captures, analyzes, and validates data entirely on its own, revolutionizing the inventory management process.

In 2019, the project got off the ground with a clear objective: to prove that a robot can carry out an inventory independently and reliably.

The first prototype was developed. It was a minimum viable product, designed to test the concept in real-world conditions.

A pilot automated inventory was carried out and the proof of concept validated: automation is possible.

Two years later, a new milestone was reached with a pre-production robot that was more robust and more efficient.

The concept was improved with increased productivity, optimized photo quality, and enhanced reliability. Astrid was more accurate and efficient.

Astrid entered mass production in 2023. The production model meets the performance targets.

Astrid is now up and running on-site and automated inventory is becoming a reality, helping to ensure 100% inventory accuracy.

Launched in 2024, this initiative has involved more than 850 suppliers and external partners, and has resulted in the submission of over 300 innovative proposals.

More than 1,000 managers and engineers from ID Logistics, based across all the countries where the Group operates, took part in the vote to select the best projects.

The customer workshop is a workshop during which we look for solutions, together with the customer, to improve the efficiency of a process or service.

The aim is to create closer collaboration, involving the customer in the continuous improvement process.

This close collaboration stimulates mutual understanding, the exchange of ideas and problem-solving based on 5 steps: DMAIC.

Stage 1: the Definition phase. These initial discussions between operational staff and the customer enable us to define the scope and challenges.

Stage 2 : The Measurement phase: Gathering relevant data to assess the situation in order to get a clear picture of current performance and identify areas for improvement.

Stage 3 : Analysis: Understanding the root causes that contribute to the problems identified, in order to implement corrective actions, resolve these problems and improve performance.

Stage 4 : Innovation. With operators who have a perfect knowledge of the field, we will develop new solutions, future processes, test them and start the action plan.

Last phase : Control, where we will standardise, train the teams, monitor performance using the SIM, quantify and share the gains with the customer.
